14. Technorati

Today I looked at Technorati, (after discovering that there is a new version of blogger). Technorati was invented to help you search through the vast growing number of bloggs by searching via key words. It also showed you how to tag your posts to make them more findable. I found this technique very useful. I looked at "Learning 2.0" in blog posts and found 2,419 results. One of these results caught my eye so I felt compelled to look at it, it was so good and interesting. It's title was: Tame The Web: Libraries and Technology by Michael Stephens. He talks about the constant changes in 2006 Library Land and the impact of 2.0, RSS, Wikis ect., have made to the library world. His blog is well worth a look at - What a Year! 2006 in Posts, Presentations,...

13. del.icio.us

I like the aspect of being able to connect all the favourites I tag from computers at various locations e.g. home, work friends ect..

I've joined del.icio.us and tagged some of my favourite sites to view when I want. I was able to view the most popular and recent postings.
Here are some:

12. Creating a search scroll (cont.)

Today I've gone back to look at the Search Scroll module again. I now have a "Recently Added" source titled "Healthy Eating". In this scroll I have added web sites for health eating recipes. I've had a lot of fun with this one. http://www.rollyo.com/explore.html

No. 12 "Roll your own search engine"

I was able to create a search roll for "Diet recipes". However, I still don't know how to retrieve any information from this site. I'm going to go back to it and have a play around with it. Still to see how it could be useful to me...http://www.rollyo.com/createroll.html

Week 5 No. 11 "Library Thing"

Today I signed up for Library Thing and catalogued 5 of my favourite books. It's so easy to use and a great idea to be able to keep track of the titles I have read. I suggest all our borrowers should access this facility. How many times have we been asked for a list of past loans that a borrower has had?? This way they could keep track of their own titles.http://www.librarything.com/search.php
